How to Make Homemade Vanilla Syrup with The Real Vanilla Beans

Vanilla Syrup is probably the most widely used and the most basic syrup in beverages. It’s not only used for vanilla latte, but it can be used in any beverages where you want sweetness with note of vanilla. In this recipe, we are going to use the real vanilla beans. Therefore, the syrup will have a better taste and aroma of vanilla than the other syrup you bought from the store. Only take less than 10 minutes to make it, so let’s get started!

You’ll only need 4 simple ingredients:

  • 130ml Water
  • 100gr Cane sugar
  • 100gr White sugar
  • 1 Pod Vanilla bean, you can get your premium vanilla beans here.

For sugar, the ratio is equal between cane sugar and white sugar. You can use any type of sugar that you like. But this is a recipe that I prefer because cane sugar allows you to feel the full body of the sugar cane. Don’t using too much of it or it will give a color that’s too dark for a vanilla syrup, so an equal ratio of the two I think it’s a good balance.

A few steps to get your own vanilla syrup :

  • Split the vanilla bean and scrape the vanilla bean seeds from the pod.

  • Pour water, sugar, vanilla seed and vanilla pod into a saucepan and simply bring it to boil. After it come to a boil, turn off the heat. Don’t boil off the water, because that’s going to alter the ratio between the sugar and the water.
  • Let it cool & pour into a beaker. Cover it with clone film.
    • Note : If you want to use the pod for making vanilla sugar, then take it off. But if not, just leave it in (that’ll give you a deeper flavor).
  • Store in the refrigerator for at least 3-4 days and up to a week.
  • Sieve it and pour in a bottle.
  • Your delicious homemade vanilla syrup is ready to use! Yummy…..
